Michael Dawson stunned by Willy Gnonto moment in Premier League clash v Wolves
Michael Dawson was left stunned by Willy Gnonto after the Leeds United attacker produced an “absolutely magnificent” piece of play during the 4-2 win against Wolves.
The diminutive Italian returned to the starting lineup and made an immediate impact by setting up Jack Harrison for the opening goal at Molineux.
Dawson was blown away by the “fantastic” skill from Gnonto as he caused Nelson Semedo all sorts of problems during the early exchanges.
“It’s Gnonto, he does absolutely magnificent,” he said (Sky Sports, 15:06, 18 March).
“Once, twice, three times he does Semedo, he does brilliant, he gets to the byline, he pulls it back, it’s just inside the box, it’s fantastic.”

The decision to remove Gnonto from the starting eleven in recent weeks is beginning to look like a baffling one.
He’s been one of the standout performers for Javi Gracia’s side and he simply has to be starting whenever possible. Gnonto is fearless and he makes things happen.
You need players like that starting regularly, even if they aren’t performing during every minute of every single game. Let’s hope this moment against Julen Lopetegui’s side forces the Spaniard’s hand slightly. Gracia is clearly still getting to know what he is working with – the fixture against Wolves is only his fourth Premier League fixture in charge.
There’s been a steady improvement. Although it wasn’t going to take much to improve on the side Jesse Marsch left at the end of his tenure at the club. Things won’t get any easier for the head coach, with a daunting trip to The Emirates to face Arsenal in their next Premier League fixture.
