Michael Dawson savages Leeds defence live on Sky Sports
Michael Dawson has savaged Leeds United for their defending against Leicester City last time out in the Premier League.
Previewing games live on Sky Sports this afternoon, footage of Harvey Barnes’ goal at Elland Road was shared.
Dawson decided to concentrate on the defending rather than the goal that everyone had to take their hat off to in the 1-1 draw.
Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday this afternoon, Dawson was not quite impressed with the defending on show at Elland Road.
“Not great defending,” he said.
“In that game, Leeds could quite easily have been out of sight with their chances.”
Marcelo Bielsa will have been fuming with what he saw despite the goal being a sensational effort into the top corner.
The worst part was that Raphinha had only put Leeds ahead seconds before that, and straight from kick-off, the defending was atrocious.
A long ball went forward, and no one in defence claimed responsibility and saw it flicked on before Barnes fired in the equaliser.
The Whites will need to be much better tomorrow at Spurs, with these little mistakes currently the difference between one and three crucial points.
Spurs have the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son waiting to pounce, and they won’t think twice before punishing any poor defending.
There shouldn’t be any changes to the back four based on our injury updates, and hopefully, that will bring some consistency and solidarity.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to make major January signings with unexpected deals to force action
