Micah Richards blown away by Leeds United man Adam Forshaw
Micah Richards admitted before Leeds United played Tottenham Hotspur that he had been impressed by Adam Forshaw.
The 30-year-old started against Leicester City and Spurs and managed to play all of the Leicester match and most of the Tottenham game.
The former Manchester City right-back believes that Forshaw can fill a vital role in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad and heaped praise on him.
Speaking on Sky Sports [via Yorkshire Evening Post] on Sunday, he said: “When you’ve been through that pain for so long, you just want to get out there on the pitch. In the game against Leicester, he made a real difference. When you’ve been out that long it’s about making sure your first pass is correct.
“His work rate is brilliant. Bielsa, in that pre-season, before he got injured, said he was one of his favourite players. He just does the basics very well. You can trust him. He is dependable, and that is what you want from a midfielder.”
Nice words from Richards.
Forshaw’s return to the starting XI has seen the Whites turn in two of their best performances of the season.
Against Tottenham, in the first half, he was everywhere and swarmed all over the two Spurs central midfielders.
He even nearly scored an absolute cracker from about 30-yards-out, which would have been a stunning goal and would have been the icing on the cake of his comeback.
Imagine if he does actually score this season, it would surely be one of the most popular goals in a long time.
The former Middlesbrough man has been through hell and back, so it is lovely to see him playing in the first team and earning praise from pundits.
Hopefully, this is it now for Forshaw, and he can just concentrate on trying to do enough to earn a new contract at Elland Road.
If he keeps playing like this, surely the Whites will have to give him one.
In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has made a concerning transfer prediction for January.
