'What a signing', 'Incredible' - Many Leeds fans react as Ross McCormack move confirmed

In what will possibly be the shock news of the weekend, former Leeds United forward Ross McCormack has joined Aldershot Town.

The Scottish international took a break from football after leaving the Australian League but has now joined the National League side.

It has been a massive fall in grace for the stocky striker since he left Elland Road, as it never really got better.

McCormack finished as the Championship top-scorer back in 2014, scoring 28 goals in a struggling Whites side.

The 34-year-old then completed moves to both Fulham and Aston Villa, although he never quite hit the ground running as much compared to his time in West Yorkshire.

The striker made 157 appearances for the Whites, the most for any club in his career and he was involved in an impressive 89 goals.

58 of those were him finding the back of the net, despite having little-to-no support around him in that mid-table Championship side.

This is a sign of how far Leeds have come. As McCormack slipped down the divisions, the Whites have only gone forward and are now at the top in the Premier League.

Many Leeds fans have reacted to the news of their former forward signing for Aldershot, with the majority shocked.

One claimed that the veteran could have “found his level”, while others were much more complimentary saying “what a signing” and that he could “tear up” the National League.
