Max Wober jets out of England after new update on Leeds United injury
Max Wober has left England as he prepares to undergo surgery on a knee injury sustained for Leeds United, according to LAOLA1.
The Austrian news outlet reported on Tuesday [1 October] that the defender will travel to Innsbruck in his native country to undergo the procedure to remove a cyst on his meniscus.
Wober is expected to remain on the sidelines for four to six weeks with the injury problems mounting for the Whites ahead of the trip to Norwich City.
Leeds United are struggling with injuries for Norwich City clash
The Whites have performed below the required standard for title contenders in the Championship this season, but are starting to find their stride and sit two points behind top spot.
Daniel Farke will have to eat his words after praising the medical department at Leeds before the 3-0 win against Coventry City with his side further depleted heading into the clash against Norwich.
Joe Rodon and Pascal Strujik stand as the club’s only senior centre-back options and that will remain the case for the foreseeable future with Wober heading for surgery and Ethan Ampadu, who can slot into the backline now also facing a lengthy injury layout [Graham Smyth].

Manor Solomon, Dan James, and Isaac Schmidt also join the absentee list at Elland Road leaving Farke scrambling for options to select a strong enough lineup to get the job done against Norwich.
On paper, Leeds still boasts a host of top-quality talent within their ranks however, the injuries are creeping towards a crisis in West Yorkshire and failure to beat Norwich on Tuesday could sound the alarm bells after only eight Championship matches.
