Mateusz Klich should be given starting berth for Leeds United v Crystal Palace
Mateusz Klich should be recalled to the Leeds United starting eleven for the Whites’ trip to Crystal Palace this weekend.
Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross revealed [5 October] that the 32-year-old was on the “verge” of leaving Elland Road in the summer after four years at the club.
Klich has featured seven times for Leeds in the 2022/23 season but only as a substitute and Cross has suggested that due to injuries and suspensions, the Polish international could be in line to get his first start of the season.
If Klich does feature for Leeds then there is every chance that he will put in a customary classy performance as he looks to book himself on the plane for Poland as they head to the World Cup in Qatar.
Furthermore, it could be sensible for Marsch to include the 32-year-old, particularly with Leeds looking to be slightly more solid on the road.
Operating with another central midfielder instead of the suspended Sinisterra could make Leeds slightly more rigid and less reliant on outscoring their opponents.
Crysencio Summerville would be the like-for-like replacement for Sinisterra. However, considering that Leeds have failed to pick up a win on the road so far in the 2022/23 season and only have one point away from Elland Road, a more conservative approach could be required.
Palace will be another tough test for Marsch’s side, with Patrick Viera’s side possessing plenty of pace and power on the counterattack. Three points are needed for the Whites after going four Premier League matches without a victory.
In other Leeds United news, Chris Sutton says this Leeds man is one to watch at the World Cup for all the wrong reasons.
