Mateusz Klich insists he’s not leaving Leeds United in January

Mateusz Klich has insisted that he is going nowhere in the January window as speculation once again heats up regarding his future at Leeds United.

Mirror journalist David Anderson has reported this month that the Polish international is “on his way out” of Elland Road despite Marcelo Bielsa wanting him to stay.

After starring in the 3-2 win at West Ham on Sunday, Klich has put those rumours to bed on social media with one of his classic joke posts.

Writing on his personal Instagram account, Klich appeared to respond directly about those links away from the club.

“I told you already I am not going anywhere in January, stop calling me,” he said.

Perfect.

The last thing that Leeds need at this moment in time is more players leaving the club unecessarily.

Cody Drameh leaving on loan to join Cardiff has rubbed more than enough people up the wrong way, so allowing a senior player to leave could tip them over the edge.

Klich is playing every week at this moment in time and should have been rewarded for his efforts with that goal at West Ham.

Why would he move on? He is trusted by Bielsa and is playing in a system that allows him to push into the final third just as he likes to.

Of course, speculation rises in January as clubs and players look for deals, but we can thankfully put this one in the “not happening” category.
