Mateusz Bogusz set to sign four year Los Angeles FC deal and seal Leeds United exit
Mateusz Bogusz asked to leave UD Ibiza months ago as the Leeds United midfielder closes in on his permanent move to Los Angeles FC, according to Cope.
The Spanish news outlet claim (24 March) the on-loan 21-year-old is set to move to the MLS side and sign a four-year deal.
It’s understood the Polish midfielder asked to leave Ibiza “months ago” but the Segunda Division side flatly refused the request. However, the Spanish club can no longer block his exit with Leeds already sanctioning his departure.
Ibiza will receive an economic amount as compensation for the midfielder, who was meant to spend the whole of the 22/23 season at the Spanish side.

Ibiza to Los Angeles, Bogusz is certainly enjoying his recent transfer activity. For a player who has been largely disappointing, he’s done well to secure a move to the MLS side. From Leeds’ perspective, it’s a case of just writing off the Polish midfielder.

Younger players do come with an element of risk and not all will go on to be a success. The pool of talent at Elland Road is extremely impressive and it’s likely there will be multiple players who come through and make an impact in the coming years.
The board have hit the jackpot this season with Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville breaking through into the first team. These successes will offset the disappointment of Bogusz’s loan move. It’s good the board have realised the 21-year-old’s level and moved to offload him before he can depart for free.
This looks like a good call for all parties involved. Furthermore, it could allow the club to target another up-and-coming player in the summer to replace the misfiring loanee.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
