Mateo Fernandez appears to be exiled from Espanyol B squad ahead of potential Leeds move
Leeds United appear to be closing in on another signing for their academy ahead of the January transfer window.
Espanyol B forward Mateo Joseph Fernandez has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Whites with just a fee needing to be finalised [Diego Balbontin].
The young attacker had been left out of one matchday squad at the start of this month, but things appear to have escalated.

Espanyol B appear to have fully exiled Fernandez from their squad after these links emerged, and it looks to be continuing.
Club Deportivo Teruel were the opponents on Sunday afternoon, and there was no Fernandez to be seen.
The B team of the Spaniards were on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller too, losing 3-2 in the end and finishing with nine-men.
Sharing on their official Twitter account ahead of the game, Fernandez was once again left out completely as the exit looks guaranteed.
Waiting to be done.
Fernandez is yet to play in Segunda Division B this season, and it looks as though it hasn’t affected his side too much.
Espanyol B are currently sitting top of Group Three in the league, and that is without one of their sensations who is linked with the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona, as well as Leeds.
The Whites finally saw the best of Joe Gelhardt and what he can do in the Premier League against Wolves, and that could see him permanently stay with the senior side.
That does open a spot in Mark Jackson’s under-23s side, and that could be where Fernandez fits in perfectly.
It looks as though it’s only a matter of time before everything is finalised, with the young attacker not even playing at this stage – time to get it done.
