Mark Prince reacts after Leeds United fans jeer speech at Queens Park Rangers
Leeds United fans were heard booing a half-time message from Mark Prince at half-time of their 4-0 loss at QPR, and he has now responded.
Prince made a speech during the interval about the work done by his charity, set up after the murder of his 15-year-old son in 2006, and some Leeds fans responded with audible jeers.
Prince posted a video to X with a message to his followers, saying that neither he nor the KPF holds any grudges against Leeds and their supporters.
He said: “My heart’s already been broken in a million pieces, so some booing from some Leeds United fans is not going to damage me.
“We care about everybody’s young people, we care about people in our community. So that’s what we’re working towards, and a few Leeds United fans do not represent the whole of Leeds United.
“It’s silly to take it any further than that or make it any deeper than that.”
Leeds United fans forgiven after night to forget at Loftus Road
Leeds United were already 2-0 down at the time of Prince’s speech at Loftus Road and went on to lose 4-0 as their push for the Championship’s top two places came off the rails.
Prince’s video message was quick to note that not all Leeds fans were booing and that the individuals who chose to boo do not represent the entirety of the fanbase.
No Leeds fan will have left Loftus Road with a smile on their face, with virtually every single member of the team playing far below the level we’ve come to expect from the Whites.
Daniel Farke’s side must now rely on huge favours from Hull and Coventry City before their final match of the season on 4 May, with Ipswich Town set to play both sides in games in hand.
The booing of Prince’s message was unacceptable from the small minority of Leeds fans at Loftus Road, and next Saturday at Elland Road, the club could do no better than to invite the Kiyan Prince Foundation to discuss issues that, as Prince discussed in his X post, affect everyone.
