Mark Lawrenson predicts Leeds United clash v Chelsea

Mark Lawrenson has backed Chelsea to comfortably beat Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites have huge injury problems ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge, with Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and Patrick Bamford missing.

Lawrenson has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the home side, despite them being far from convincing of late.

Writing in his predictions column for the BBC, Lawrenson insisted there were big problems at Elland Road.

“Chelsea have looked a lot less convincing of late, especially at the back,” he wrote.

“They lost their way a little bit in their defeat by West Ham which is strange because they are usually so well organised and mentally strong.

“But Leeds have bigger problems, especially if Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford are facing some time on the sidelines through injuries sustained in their draw with Brentford.”

Problems?

The injuries just keep on coming for the Whites, and things don’t seem to be getting any better for Marcelo Bielsa.

Just as it was looking good at Elland Road ahead of the game against Brentford, it couldn’t have been much worst in the 2-2 draw with our stars dropping like flies.

We are sat here every single asking will it ever get easier? The way things are going, we continue to think they won’t.

With such big games coming up against the best in the Premier League, it is hard to see anything positive coming between now and Boxing Day.

Let’s hope for some real luck, but that’s what it may take at Stamford Bridge.
