Mark Lawrenson predicts Leeds clash v Norwich City

Mark Lawrenson has backed Leeds United to pick up another three points in their Premier League clash against Norwich on Sunday.

The BBC pundit has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the Whites, as they look to separate themselves from the bottom three.

Norwich come into this one on the back of a seven-goal drubbing at Chelsea, and Marcelo Bielsa will want his side to take advantage of that.

Writing in his BBC predictions column this week, Lawrenson believes that the Whites will speed up their form this weekend.

“This is game number 10 of the Premier League season, taking us more than a quarter of the way through, so if you are a manager or a coach you will now have a really good idea what you can expect from your team during the rest of the campaign,” he wrote.

“Let’s face it, things do not look very good for Norwich right now after their capitulation against Chelsea last weekend, and it is hard to see them improving much in the coming months.

“Leeds have been slow off the mark themselves, and given their form, this should be a home game for Norwich to target to win. I don’t see that happening though.”

Reliance.

Much has been made of the over-reliance on Raphinha, but that has been more than proved over the last couple of weeks.

The Brazilian was missing at Southampton, and the Whites put in their worst attacking display in years under Bielsa.

He returned to the starting XI against Wolves, and was at the heart of everything in an attacking sense before his injury.

Leeds are still hopeful that he will be fine for this trip, and him being named in the starting XI could make all the difference.

Add to that the possible return of Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford, and the Whites could be back to full strength.

Bring it on.
