Leeds United winger Raphinha could be available to feature for the Whites in their Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal.

Sky Sports have shared the major update as the Whites travel to take on the Gunners at The Emirates Stadium.

The Brazilian was forced off against Wolves with an ankle problem only three days ago, but it doesn't look as though he will be out long-term.

Writing in their preview of the game this evening, Sky appeared to share that the Brazilian isn't expected to be out long-term.

"Leeds winger Raphinha could be available to face the Gunners after revealing the injury he sustained in Saturday's draw against Wolves was nothing serious," they wrote.

"The Brazil international hobbled out of the 1-1 draw at Elland Road but later gave a positive update on his fitness on social media."

Brilliant.

Given this update, it looks as though we have avoided a long-term absence for one of our star men.

That would have been the last thing we needed at Elland Road given the injuries already surrounding this current squad.

Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo are all on the verge of returning from their own problems.

It would have been heartbreaking to welcome them back and then wave goodbye to another one of our main men.

One silver lining would be that Dan James and Jack Harrison are good enough to cover that absence short-term, but they proved against Southampton that they aren't long-term answers.

Hopefully, Raphinha may miss tonight and get ready to start against Norwich in the Premier League on Sunday.
