Marcelo Bielsa was in tears as he saw Leeds United squad for final time – Mike McGrath
Marcelo Bielsa was in tears as he met with the Leeds United squad for the final time on Monday morning.
That’s according to Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, who shared an insight into Thorp Arch on the day of change.
The Leeds squad went on to meet Jesse Marsch, Bielsa’s successor later in the same day as they start to prepare for the trip to Leicester.

Writing in his latest column, McGrath shared the latest from Thorp Arch after the major shift in power.
“Marcelo Bielsa was in tears when he addressed his Leeds United players for the final time following his dismissal at Elland Road at the weekend,” he wrote.
“Bielsa spoke through an interpreter during his media duties, making it difficult to read his feelings on his time in English football, but the tearful final meeting players illustrates what the four years meant to him during his pioneering career.”

Final farewell.
Bielsa is likely jetting away back to South America, and no one can blame him if he wants to take a break from it all.
No club, outside of Newell’s Old Boys, will have a place in Bielsa’s heart as Leeds does, and all of this just makes that very clear.
The tears and the emotional gathering with fans outside of Thorp Arch wasn’t the way we all expected this to end, but good things must come to an end eventually.
It was emotional for everyone, but it is now about moving on.
Marsch is now in town, and we have to get behind him and the players now more than ever as we look to survive in the Premier League.
We don’t want to end this season in tears, so let’s make that change now.
