Marcelo Bielsa blown away by Crysencio Summerville
Marcelo Bielsa has been impressed by the performances and evolution of Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville.
The 19-year-old has been impressing for the U-23s and has caught the attention of the Argentine.
Ahead of Leeds’ weekend fixture against Everton, Bielsa spoke about the young attacker in his pre-match press conference.
According to the BBC’s Adam Pope, “Bielsa says winger Crysencio Summerville is ‘one of the youngsters who has evolved the most. It’s what generates optimism.'”
Breakthrough season?
Bielsa may be notoriously dogmatic in terms of his style of play, but he’s known to give fringe players and youngsters the chance at the senior level should they continually prove themselves in training and with the junior teams.
Summerville may only be 19, but he plays with the maturity and poise of someone in their mid-20s and working under the Argentine could only be beneficial for his career.
This Monday, our U-23s smashed Crystal Palace 3-1 and Summerville was the pick of the bunch, managing to register his name on the score sheet as well.

He was even labelled “ruthless” by LeedsLive reporter Joe Donnohue, who was in attendance at the game.
Bielsa could very well give Summerville the chance to prove himself this season, especially if we don’t end up signing any attacker.
He’s got the ideal work rate and end product as well, making him a perfect match for the Argentine.
It remains to be seen how he fares in the coming few games as we’re tipping him to have a breakthrough campaign.
