Marca: Raphinha calm about future with Leeds United winger waiting on Barcelona
Leeds United winger Raphinha is aware of potential financial “wriggle room” for Barcelona as the Brazilian remains calm about his future, according to Marca.
The Athletic reported on Tuesday 21 June that Arsenal have made a formal offer for the 25-year-old which was well below Leeds’ valuation.
However, Marca claimed on Wednesday 22 June, that despite the Premier League interest, the winger remains calm over his future and is holding out for a move to Barcelona.
Marca also suggested that Raphinha knows the Catalans have financial wriggle room until the end of June.
Leeds or Barcelona
Surely Raphinha either remains at Elland Road or makes his dream move to Barcelona.
The Premier League interest was anticipated, but a move to Arsenal just seems like a bit of a nothing move.
Arsenal aren’t competing in the Champions League and are hardly serial trophy winners at present.
The Brazilian should leave Elland Road for the right reasons and not merely for the sake of leaving or a better payday.
If he does depart Yorkshire this summer then surely a move to a Champions League club is the bare minimum for the Brazilian.
It would certainly be a tough one for the Elland Road faithful to take if he moves to The Emirates.
The Brazilian also needs to look at the early transfer moves at Elland Road with Jesse Marsch already adding some impressive additions to his squad.
Leeds will be better next season, there is no doubting that, and Raphinha must make sure he doesn’t end up making a sideways move.
