Leigh Bromby was left wowed by Manor Solomon as he set up Dan James to open the scoring for Leeds United against Oxford United.

The Israel international was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up as Daniel Farke chose to rest Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani on 21 December.

The Tottenham loanee justified his selection with a low cross for James to slide in and score the opener at Elland Road.

Speaking live on BBC West Yorkshire Sport [21 December, 15:10], saying: "Excellent play from Solomon.

"He puts it on a plate for Dan James to finish. He gets a bit of luck but he did really well to leave James with a tap in that he couldn't miss."

Solomon gives Leeds United major boost

As it stands, the Whites are second in the Championship table and are set to cut Sheffield United's lead at the top to one point with the Blades drawing at Cardiff.

Solomon has played a crucial part in that with a sensational cross for the hosts' only goal so far.

He now has two goals and two assists in 15 appearances for Farke's side and has shown he can be a reliable option in the resting of Gnonto and Ramazani.

His performance in the first half will be an encouraging one for Farke as he will not be concerned about his rotation plans during a tricky festive fixture schedule.

The Whites face four games in 10 days after the Oxford contest starting with a trip to Stoke City on Boxing Day (26 December).

Farke will need to rotate his attackers to avoid injuries and will have no qualms about doing so after it paid off against the relegation-threatened side.
