Manor Solomon Leeds United challenge outlined amid ‘Deadly’ verdict

Graham Smyth believes the next “challenge” that Manor Solomon is set to face at Leeds United after his “deadly” performance against Oxford United is finding some consistency.

The attacker was involved in three of the Whites’ goals against the U’s with the Israel international getting his name on the scoresheet and assisting two others.

The West Yorkshire outfit are still second in the Championship table but if players like Solomon can perform like that each week, they should be able tocan still pip Sheffield United to the top spot.

Writing via the Yorkshire Evening Post Website (23 December), Smyth shared his thoughts on the recent performances of Solomon.

“The loanee from Tottenham Hotspur was expected to be a difference maker at this level if he stayed fit,” he wrote.

“Fitness and availability have not come easily but he’s starting to show his superiority. He was dangerous in a cameo against Preston North End and played a part in the equaliser.

“He was deadly against Oxford United, scored one and made two others. This is what Leeds believed they could be getting. Now consistency is the challenge.”

Manor Solomon could be key to the promotion of Leeds United

As you’d expect with the talent among their ranks, the Whites are one of the favourites to win the Championship title this season.

They narrowly missed out on earning their Premier League status back at the first time of asking last season after they fell just short in the play-off final and were defeated 1-0 by the Saints.

And, although Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter departed the West Yorkshire outfit for a chance in the top flight, Farke suitably managed to replace two of his key players.

In the case of Solomon, however, his form has been very topsy-turvy, but if he can keep his performances to the level he showed in the Whites’ 4-0 victory over Oxford United, he could become key to their promotion charge.

At the moment, these are all ifs and buts of course but with the skill he’s shown in certain spells this season, there’s no reason why the Tottenham loanee couldn’t emerge as one of the best players within Farke’s team.
