Manchester United cool interest Leeds United ace Illan Meslier as they line up Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka

Manchester United reportedly look to have moved on from Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier as they’re now eyeing a move for Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka.

According to the Sun, they were keen on signing the Frenchman and also eyed Southampton’s Alex McCarthy but now have their heart set on Dubravka.

Meslier is the undisputed number one at Leeds and has been admired by Marcelo Bielsa as well as Jesse Marsch.

Dream on

It’s funny that they even thought Leeds would do business with them and sell one of their most prized assets.

Meslier has proven that he’s only getting better with time and has already established his reputation as one of the best young keepers in Europe.

Would he to be sold, Leeds could demand fees in the region of what Manchester City paid for Kalvin Phillips and probably even more than that.

However, the Elland Road hierarchy appear to be extremely clear with the fact that the player is not for sale.

Hopefully, there are no more first-team exists this summer as some clubs get desperate on deadline day and table crazy bids.

Manchester United can surely be categorised as one of those clubs as they’ve got billionaire owners and have been one of Europe’s biggest spenders for the last few seasons.

Meslier is one player they can forget about signing as even if he wanted out, Leeds would sell him to any other club instead of letting him leave for Old Trafford.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could make a final push for an international striker after he was left out of his side’s matchday squad last weekend.
