Lyon attacker Tete misses training on Friday morning as Leeds United set to seal transfer

Leeds United are reportedly looking to complete yet another signing along with Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie by luring in Lyon forward Tete.

According to Foot Mercato [27 January], the Brazilian missed training on Friday, 27 January, morning as he looks keen on leaving the French club.

L’Equipe reported on the same day that Leeds are set to complete his signing with him flying to the United Kingdom, making him their third signing after Max Wober and Georginio Rutter this month.

Right move?

As a striker, Tete is known for his speed, agility and technical ability and would be a good addition to this Leeds side.

He is a quick, mobile forward who can run at defenders with the ball and take them on as he’s blessed with an impeccable dribbling ability.

The 22-year-old is also a good finisher, and he has a good sense of where the goal is, and he is able to score goals from different positions.

He is also good at creating space for himself and his teammates with his movement off the ball and he can play as a left winger or even as a second striker so this could be an indicator that they’re preparing for life after Jack Harrison.

He has made a significant impact in the Ukrainian league and Champions league since he joined Shakhtar Donetsk and after moving to Lyon too, he’s been finding the net pretty regularly.

This one’s come out of the blue, but if Leeds have a long-term plan behind it then it makes a lot of sense for them to pursue his services.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites appear to be on the cusp of another January signing as a player’s agent jets into the United Kingdom to conduct final transfer talks.
