Luke Ayling returns to Leeds United training

Leeds United have been handed a huge injury boost as Luke Ayling has been spotted in training.

The right-back last played for the Whites in their 1-1 draw against Newcastle back in September.

It has been over a month since he’s featured for Marcelo Bielsa and Jamie Shackleton has been preferred to start in his stead.

Great news

The Whites’ performances since the start of the season have been woeful, to say the least.

Not only do they find themselves in the wrong half of the table, but they are also fighting a relegation battle and are just a point clear from the bottom three.

They have been unlucky with injuries, but some of their performances have been woeful and they have failed to win games that they should be picking up three points from.

Hopefully, Ayling’s return changes that and gives them that much-needed impetus in the final third.

Leeds and Bielsa desperately need some of his brilliance even though Shackleton has done well in his absence.

Ayling offers something different and is likely to start regularly once he’s fully fit – with this looking as though he is training away from the main group.

Bielsa will also be delighted to have him back as he’s been one of his mainstays since he’s taken over and his influence on games has only increased with each passing campaign under the Argentine.
