LeedsLive reporter Joe Donnohue was pleased with Leeds United youngster Sam Greenwood's goal against Everton U-23s on Monday night.

The Whites under-23s may have lost the game 4-2, but there were a few players whose performances stood out.

Greenwood bagged a goal that gave his side a 2-0 lead, but unfortunately, they ended up conceding four without any reply.

Leeds United

Describing his goal on LeedsLive's feed, Donnohue wrote: "Leeds double their advantage through Sam Greenwood with a lovely, side-footed volley.

"Lewis Bate sprays the ball out wide to Kris Moore who bends a great cross into the penalty area.

"No hesitation, Greenwood shapes his body to side-foot it beyond the Everton keeper Tyrer. Great technique running throughout that goal."

Collapse

Greenwood should not be blamed for the Leeds collapse as he did his bit on the night.

He started in the number 10 role, playing off Amari Miller, and had a decent performance.

Leeds United

However, the way this Leeds side folded was unacceptable and Marcelo Bielsa, who's known to keep a close eye on the academy, would not have been pleased.

The Whites looked like they were in control of this game, but after the 40th minute, they took their foot off the pedal and let complacency kick in.

This loss meant that Leeds are winless in their last four games in all competitions, which is a tad disappointing.

Looking at the squad, which includes players who've made their senior debuts like Crysencio Summerville and Charlie Cresswell, one expects better from Mark Jackson's men.
