Luke Ayling pays tribute to West Brom ace after Baggies join Leeds in PL

Luke Ayling has paid tribute to his former Leeds United team-mate Kyle Bartley after he won promotion to the Premier League with West Brom.

Bartley has played a key role at The Hawthorns this season, appearing 40 times in all competitions and playing 90 minutes of their promotion-clinching draw with QPR on Wednesday night.

He spent a season on loan at Elland Road a couple of years back, captaining the club before he returned to Swansea and was eventually snapped up permanently by the Baggies.

Bartley clearly forged some strong friendships at Leeds, with one of them being with right-back Luke Ayling, who reacted to West Brom’s promotion on his personal Twitter account.

“Premier League, my man,” said Ayling as he posted an image of himself staring lovingly at the ex-Arsenal defender.

It’s not the most flattering of images of Bartley but the West Brom defender is bound to appreciate Ayling’s tweet about him after such a huge achievement in his career.

Leeds are deserving champions this season while West Brom are deserving runners-up.

The two clubs have kept each other going all season, which is why they have swapped places so often over the course of the campaign and managed to pull away from the chasing pack at one stage.

Of course, Leeds pulled away on their own in the last couple of weeks, showing that they are the ones who deserve to take the title most.

But there’s no argument that the two best teams went up in the end, even though many will point to Brentford’s impressive form since the restart.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have tabled an offer for this centre-forward.
