Lucas Radebe reacts to Leeds United win v Watford on Twitter
Leeds United secured their first win of the season after beating Watford 1-0 in the Premier League clash at Elland Road on Saturday.
Diego Llorente scored the only goal of the match as the Whites picked up a much-needed victory before the international break.
Former Whites captain, Lucas Radebe, took to social networking site Twitter after the game to share his reaction.
Radebe has hailed the victory as a “confidence booster’, adding it was a “very important” three points for the club.
Leeds have struggled to match the level of performance of last season so far, but this victory will give them a new impetus after the international break.
Solid team effort
The Whites were simply brilliant in the first half and should have scored more than Llorente’s goal.
They had a penalty appeal turned down while Stuart Dallas and Mateusz Klich couldn’t find the finishing touch.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side dropped off a bit in the second half, but they had a great opportunity at the end when Tyler Robert’s effort came off the crossbar.
The return of Llorente to the side made a huge difference as Leeds kept their first clean sheet of the season.
More than the performance, it was the much-needed result that stood out.
Dan James, the big-money summer signing from Manchester United, was also impressive during the game, and he showed great energy throughout the game.
While he is still adapting to the new system under the Argentine, there was ample evidence why he should fit into this team in the long run.
