Liam Delap sends Instagram message to Leeds ace Charlie Cresswell

Leeds United under-23’s squad were finally handed the chance to lift the Premier League 2 trophy at Elland Road on Wednesday.

It was an incredible season for the young Whites after their jump to category one status at Thorp Arch, as they destroyed the competition.

Charlie Cresswell led his troops for the season, but it was the likes of Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood who took most of the headlines.

The Whites skipper took to his personal Instagram account on Wednesday evening and is already looking ahead to next season.

Manchester City talent Liam Delap was one of those to respond, and he was clearly a fan of his England teammate who he will be facing next season.

“The man,” he wrote.

Star.

Cresswell, Greenwood and Gelhardt are all England internationals and have all proved they are too good to be playing at this level.

Promotion to the top division of the Premier League 2, and the potential of making their senior league debuts next season will bring them to another level.

Delap is one of the best and has made his senior Manchester City debut in the past year, springing comparisons to Erling Haaland.

If one of the brightest talents in England at this moment is excited about Cresswell, it is clear that the young defender is going places.

We have all known that for some time now, and if there was another defensive crisis at Elland Road, it is time for Cresswell to step up.
