Liam Cooper doubtful for Leeds clash v Burnley - report
Leeds United defender Liam Cooper remains a doubt for the Premier League clash against Burnley, according to Leeds Live.
The Whites skipper could have returned against Spurs after serving his three-match suspension but had picked up a fresh injury.
Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that it was a gluteus problem, adding to the woes of the Scottish international in the Premier League.
Adam Forshaw and Helder Costa are both out, with the Whites duo likely to be missing for the rest of the season, unfortunately.
Beren Cross reported that Cooper will remain a doubt until Bielsa addresses the media on Thursday morning ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.
“We should now expect an update in the pre-Burnley press conference which will take place on Thursday morning,” he wrote.
“Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente continued to develop their promising partnership in central defence in Cooper’s absence against Spurs.”
Cooper has been waiting for this moment to get back into the Premier League, and it has been filled with bad moment after bad moment.
From missing the season opener at Liverpool, to his red card at Manchester City, and that is ignoring his continuous injury worries.
Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente shined once again by keeping the likes of Harry Kane virtually non-existent against Spurs, so we expect that partnership to continue regardless.
This weekend brings the test of former Whites talisman Chris Wood, who is in the form of his life at this current moment in time, scoring five goals in his last three games.
It appears likely that Cooper will be missing from the trip to Turf Moor, as there is no need to change a winning squad that were dominant on Saturday.
