Lewis Jones compares Leeds to teams battling relegation, predicts Spurs clash
Lewis Jones has backed Spurs to beat Leeds United on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League at Elland Road.
The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the away side after the Whites crashed to defeat against Brighton last time out.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men were on a six-game unbeaten streak beforehand but were missing critical players such as Kalvin Phillips at the AMEX.
Writing on his Sky Sports prediction column, Jones made the claim that he would be backing the Whites to lose their remaining games.
“I’m keen on opposing Leeds in their remaining fixtures this season,” he said.
“Leeds usually are among the top performers when it comes to analysing goals scored, expected goals and shots on goal but in their last seven fixtures, performance levels have actually mirrored a team battling relegation.
“Spurs should fancy their chances. Even more so if Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are missing again through injury. Away win.”
Relegation?
What a ludicrous claim to make.
So, to make it clear, Jones believes that in our last seven fixtures we were replicating relegation form, even despite going unbeaten against Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool; that is embarrassing.
Bielsa can’t win. When the Whites are more structured and defensive, they are boring, but when they go all-out attacking, it is suicide; make up your minds.
The Whites have been sensational after being away from the Premier League for 16 years, but it still isn’t enough to please everyone.
We will hold Jones to the claim that he will oppose Leeds for their remaining four games, starting this weekend.
