Lewis Bate could undergo Leeds United medical tomorrow

Leeds United have almost thrashed out a deal to sign Chelsea central midfielder Lewis Bate, according to Nizaar Kinsella.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday, the Goal journalist reported that Bate, 18, could have a medical with the Whites as early as tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Athletic have recently reported that Leeds have made a bid to Chelsea for the teenage sensation, who is out of contract next year and has rejected a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Almost done

Leeds have been on fire when it comes to transfers this summer.

It never seems to take long for the Whites to complete a deal for a player once they are first linked, with speculation about Bate only arising earlier this week.

Bate is a very highy-rated midfielder who, as per The Athletic, has had some Chelsea coaches saying he’s better than Billy Gilmour.

If that’s the case, then Gilmour has been playing for Chelsea and Scotland so we feel as though he could be on the edge of Marcelo Bielsa’s senior squad next season in the Premier League.

Victor Orta loves to add young players at Elland Road and that has continued to be the case this summer with Amari Miller arriving from Birmingham and Sean McGurk coming in from Wigan.

Joe Gelhardt, Crysensio Summerville, Sam Greenwood and Cody Drameh all impressed last season for the Under-23s and starting to get into the first-team.

Let’s hope Bate can do the same because we have a shortage of quality options in the centre of the midfield, where he can shine.

In other Leeds United news, this winger has been spotted heading to a Yorkshire club ahead of potentially leaving Elland Road for good.
