Spotted: Leeds United winger Jordan Stevens on trial at Harrogate Town
Leeds United winger Jordan Stevens has been spotted on trial at Harrogate Town during a pre-season friendly.
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth retweeted a snippet of information from a Harrogate fan, claiming Stevens, 21, has played for the Yorkshire club in their game against Newcastle United on Sunday.
Twitter user HTFC.WILKO then uploaded an image to show Stevens playing in Harrogate’s colours while the League Two club did confirm a trialist was playing for them in the pre-season friendly.
Is Stevens allowed to leave Leeds this summer?
Last term, the 21-year-old had tough spells on loan at both Swindon Town and Bradford City.
He spent the first half of the campaign in League One with Swindon.
However, despite scoring on his debut, the right-winger struggled for game-time in the league and only managed six starts.
In the winter, that loan spell ended and he dropped down to League Two to play for Bradford but again, Stevens found game-time hard to come by.
He did make 16 League Two appearances for Bradford but 15 of them were as a substitute.
Stevens is in the final year of his contract at Elland Road and in all honesty, he hasn’t hit the heights expected of him and should probably be allowed to leave.
We’ve seen Stevens play six times for the Leeds first-team but he’s never really pulled up any trees and last season was a bit of a mess for him and must have held back his development a bit.
Hopefully, if he joins Harrogate, he can revive his career and do really well there.
