‘Let me get this right’ – Simon Jordan responds to Leeds fan as talkSPORT Twitter spat erupts

talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan ruffled the feathers of a lot of Leeds United fans on Tuesday when he delivered his verdict on Monday night’s game.

Leciester beat Leeds 4-1 and Jordan said on talkSPORT that he doesn’t “bow at the temple of Bielsa like all these other managers seem to do.”

He said “Leeds aren’t that good” and hooked a huge amount of Whites fans in the replies.

One Leeds fan caught Jordan’s attention after saying, “Mr Jordan has made his living by having controversial opinions so this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. However, to not recognise the skills of Bielsa nor to believe that #LUFC are that good, is poor, even from him. Leeds were poor v #LCFC that is a fact and they deserved it.”

Jordan responded on Wednesday morning saying, “Let me get this right… I have raved on about #lufc… endlessly waxed on about what a big club they are … Given some context about the ott at times reaction to Bielsa and Leeds current form. So it’s controversial and poor! Because it’s not ur view.”

This is what talkSPORT do. To be fair to Jordan, he at least tries to make sensible points, albeit wrapped up in the language that gets reactions.

Leeds took a spanking on Monday night and Leicester deserved to win.

If you put Jordan’s words in the context of some people saying that Leeds will end in the top four this season, then what he’s saying makes sense.

However, that context isn’t there when you post short clips on Twitter and talkSPORT know this.

They make their money by making people angry and plenty of Leeds fans are hot under the collar about this.

The best thing to do is to let it slide over your head. Leeds do their talking on the pitch and have the chance to put things right after the Leicester game with a win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

One game doesn’t undo what a fantastic start to the season Leeds have had.
