Leicester City out of race as Leeds United table club-record bid for Charles De Ketelaere

Leicester City are reportedly out of the race to sign Leeds United target and Club Brugge striker Charles De Ketelaere.

According to RTL journalist Alexandre Braeckman, it looks like only Leeds and AC Milan remain in the race to sign the Belgium international.

Il Messaggero reported on July 6 that the Whites tabled a club-record bid for the 23-year-old worth around £34.1million to beat the Italian giants.

When asked if Leicester were completely out of the race, Braeckamn replied, “It looks like, yeah.”

In pole position?

Milan’s first bid for the Belgian was nowhere close to what Brugge are looking to sell him and it seems like Leeds are in a better financial position.

While the player may prefer Milan and Champions League football, they will have to be able to afford him in order for him to move.

He could realise that moving to Elland Road may not be the worst thing in the world either as he would get to play for an iconic club in the most competitive league in the world.

Leicester are also not able to match what they want for the player and the Whites find themselves in a rare position of superiority.

The sale of Kalvin Phillips coupled with the potential departure of Raphinha would see them getting in nine figures in total which is a staggering amount of money.

They can now build a more balanced squad with quality players in different positions and we cannot wait to see how it transpires on the field of play.

In other Leeds United, a Whites defender heavily admired by Marcelo Bielsa could permanently seal his permanent exit this summer with there being genuine interest in his services.
