Leeds want to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Orta makes contact - report

Leeds United have held talks with Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over a potential summer move, according to Football Fan Cast.

The online outlet have reported that Victor Orta has made contact with the 20-year-old who has impressed on the international stage.

It is suggested that the Georgian talent would need to secure a work permit to move to Elland Road, although there is no indication the move is close.

Orta is already making moves for the summer, and it is clear that attacking options are wanted to reinforce Marcelo Bielsa’s options.

Kvaratskhelia signed a five-year deal in Russia when making the switch back in 2019, and still has three years remaining on his contract.

The 20-year-old made the headlines last month when scoring against Spain in World Cup Qualifiers, a game in which Diego Llorente featured in.

The Russian Premier Liga have showcased the skills of Kvaratskhelia already, labelling this solo-run as “world-class” and it is just that.

Who better to harness that talent than Marcelo Bielsa? El Loco has more than proven that he can take players and transform them into world-beaters this season, and is the best at doing just that.

The Georgian sensation has only scored four goals this season in his 23 appearances, but he has also delivered eight assists in the Russian League, taking his involvements into double figures.

With question marks surrounding the future of Helder Costa, Kvaratskhelia could join Raphinha and Jack Harrison in offering phenomenal options to Bielsa.

Midfield and left-back are also clear areas that need sorting this summer, and it is calming to see Orta already using his connections to kickstart our transfer plans early.
