Tim Sherwood: Leeds should have been relegated from Premier League with this squad

Tim Sherwood has insisted that Leeds United should have been relegated from the Premier League with their squad on paper.

The Whites currently sit ninth after 16 years away from the top-flight and are currently six unbeaten despite playing four of the top-six.

Sherwood claims the difference is solely Marcelo Bielsa and his demands that have created a different animal at Elland Road.

Speaking over the weekend, Sherwood made the huge claim that the Whites should have been struggling this season after promotion.

“Should they have been relegated? With the squad they have they should, but not in the way they approach it,” he said via Leeds United News.

“What’s their edge? Bielsa demands they are the fittest, they run the furthest – he’s a breath of fresh air, I love this guy.”

Ludicrous.

Pundits can’t seem to make up their minds, and it doesn’t surprise us.

First, the Whites spent too much money despite sticking with the majority of their squad that earned promotion from the Championship.

Then, it was the classic that Leeds were going to burn out from how much running they do, but that still hasn’t happened.

Sherwood has already been guilty of that one this season, but because it hasn’t happened, he suddenly becomes one of our biggest fans, likely to cover his own back.

We would have taken 17th spot at the start of the season, but we were all aiming higher, maybe we were the only ones that were confident we would not get relegated.
