Leeds United are set to complete a deal for highly-rated teenage defender Cody Drameh, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that an initial offer of £400k has accelerated quickly to a total package that could hit £1m if “clauses are met”.

Leeds had tried to sign Drameh in January but with the youngster entering the final year of his contract, Fulham have now seemingly decided to cash in on the youngster.

Interestingly, Leeds have offered first-team football and Drameh was said to have been attracted by Bielsa and his long-term vision for Leeds.

Interestingly, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol had said that Fulham didn’t want to lose Drameh and had big plans for him.

However, it seems that Leeds under Bielsa was just too much of a draw for the 18-year-old.

Bielsa-ball: Total football

It’s impossible to state just how important the manager is to the club at the moment. It’s not just where he’s taken Leeds – back in the Premier League after 16 years – it’s about where his long-term vision is aiming to take the club.

Fans might want to see marquee signings for Leeds but it’s players like Drameh who are the future.

If Leeds can snap up the players of tomorrow, like Drameh and like Joe Gelhardt, then the future is unimaginably bright at Elland Road.

The Under-23s squad was already strong. And, while Drameh will be offered first-team squad chances, he’s likely to make the Under-23s side even stronger next season.

How lucky are Leeds to have Bielsa? The answer could really become clear over the next five years.

And it’s not just Leeds who are benefitting from Bielsa – Orta’s star is getting brighter all the time and that’s just reward for bringing Bielsa to the club in the first place.
