Leeds United youngster Joe Littlewood turns out for Sunderland U-23s
Leeds United youngster Joe Littlewood recently joined Sunderland on trial until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old has regularly turned out for the Leeds U-18s this season, but is now part of the action at a higher age group.
Having started for the Sunderland Under-23s last week against Aston Villa, he was once again named in the eleven to face Birmingham’s Under-23s.

Partnering Cameron Jessup, Littlewood featured for 55 minutes before coming off for midfielder Oliver Bainbridge.
Good news
Thorp Arch is the breeding ground for many young players who have made it big not just at Leeds but at other clubs as well.
If Littlewood is playing regularly for the Under-18s, he’s clearly among the best in that age group at the club.
The only logical progression is to a higher age group where he can take on players a few years his senior.
Alternatively, the club could and have sent him out on trial to another club so as to equip him for that age group.

He’s starting games regularly for their Under-23s so he’s probably doing well in his relatively short time at the club.
Hopefully, he carries on with his progress and then takes a decision about what to do with his future if Sunderland do offer him a deal.
If he shines on trial, the Leeds hierarchy will also try hard to keep him on at the club.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
