Fabrizio Romano shares inside transfer info on Leeds United winger Raphinha
Leeds United winger Raphinha could be in demand next summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand Presents Five podcast, Romano has claimed that Liverpool could make an attempt to sign Raphinha in the summer.
The Reds are looking to sign a winger in the summer and they have been tracking him for a while. PSG could also be interested in signing him.
Romano says that Liverpool didn’t make a move for him this summer, partly because of the high price tag of more than £60 million.
He has hailed him as a “special” player and thinks it will be an “open race” for him in the summer.
Romano said: “I will keep an eye on the situation of Liverpool…They wanted him last summer. He was one of their targets…They wanted to sign a winger but it was impossible to sign him because Leeds wanted to keep him and the price was too high. It was more than £60million.
“Yes, more than this, they want it. I think the player is very special…so if Liverpool want to decide to go big for a winger in the summer, he could be one of the names. The boy wants to be at a top, top level. It’s going to be an open race. But Liverpool are keeping an eye on this boy for a long time.”
Raphinha has been outstanding this season for the Whites once again.
In fact, he has taken his game to a whole new level. With Leeds struggling badly in the league, Raphinha has been miles ahead of his other teammates.
Marcelo Bielsa has probably run out of adjectives to describe the Brazilian, and he suggests that the winger is going to get even better, once his other teammates step up and raise their games.
There have been times this season when Raphinha single-handedly carried the team, when his side needed a source of inspiration or a moment of extraordinary quality.
He has been equally outstanding for his country as well.
Raphinha has a contract at the club till 2024. Leeds are pretty relaxed about his situation.
The Whites know very well they cannot keep him with him forever. But they will make sure they get the best deal out if they sell him in summer.
