Leeds United winger Jack Harrison now wanted by ‘a lot of’ Premier League sides

Jack Harrison is currently being tracked by multiple clubs in the Premier League as he has found form again for Leeds United, according to Dean Jones.

The English winger was chased by Newcastle through last summer and into the early weeks of the season, and then came within a few hours of completing a £20million move to Leicester on January deadline day.

His contract enters its final year in the summer and a long-awaited extension is still conspicuous by its absence, but after weeks of poor form he has rebounded with two goals and two assists in the past four Premier League games, and according to Jones “a lot” of clubs again interested.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the former Eurosport journalist said: “The thing with Jack Harrison is his ability is undoubted. Anyone that perhaps hasn’t been happy with Harrison would perhaps be because they know that there’s still so much more that he could give.

“On his day, he can be the best player in his team, and they need to see that consistently between now and the end of the season to make sure they stay in the division.

“It’s not a coincidence that he’s tracked by a lot of teams higher up the division than Leeds are right now. He’ll be big in a few games to come this season.”

Back in fashion

When Harrison started the season like a house on fire it looked like another relegation battle would certainly not be happening, but fast forward seven months and that’s where Leeds United find themselves once more.

The 26-year-old dropping off so alarmingly after that early flourish was a big part of the club sliding down the table, and Jesse Marsch ultimately losing his job.

He hasn’t quite got back to his absolute best yet but crucial goals and assists are a major improvement, so it is perhaps no surprise there are so many clubs sniffing around.

But it makes the contract situation more pressing than ever, because if there is a growing market for his services the Whites need to protect themselves against losing him on the cheap, or at all.

Playing like he has been lately, and with four or five years to go rather than one, he is likely to be worth more than double what the club were on the brink of letting him go to the King Power for just two months ago.

And the difference of opinion within the hierarchy that ultimately reversed that process at the last minute, as well as the fact he kept his starting spot for so long when playing badly, shows there is also a lot of support at the club, so it would be a big disappointment to see him go at a cut price just as things were coming together again.

In other Leeds United news, a key Whites player’s season looks like it might now be over according an injury analyst in the latest blow to Javi Gracia.
