Noel Whelan and Dominic Matteo react on Twitter after Leeds 2-1 win v Norwich
Leeds United picked up their second win of the season after beating Norwich City 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Carrow Road.
Norwich are without a Premier League win in their opening 10 games, while Leeds still stay 17th in the table.
After a dour first half, the game sprung into life with three goals in five minutes changing the complexion of the game, two of them being scored by the visitors.
Former Leeds United player Noel Whelan has taken to Twitter to express his reaction after the game.
He wrote: “Great win, job done by the Leeds lads, that’s the only outcome we needed. Three points away from home – get in.
“Have a safe journey home all. It’s [beer] time – wahoooooo.”

Another former Leeds player, Dominic Matteo, wrote:
“Much needed but well deserved three points. A solid team performance- Raphinha out and out match-winner and the noise from the travelling Leeds fans brilliant as always.”
Much needed
It was a much-needed win for the Whites. The pressure was gradually mounting on Marcelo Bielsa’s side after a poor start to the season.
Many feel that Leeds should be doing a lot better considering the wealth of quality they have in their squad, and it will be interesting to see if Leeds can push on from here.
To start with, it’s a much-improved performance. The introduction of Raphinha has made a lot of difference. The Brazilian has been top-class and he is the driving force of the team at the moment.
The likes of Pascal Struijk, Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Daniel James have done well, while Rodrigo scored with a long-range effort.
Having said that, what we would do without Raphinha! He is head and shoulders above the rest, and we must enjoy every moment he stays with us.
