Leeds United want to sign Djed Spence - Sky Sports

Leeds United want to sign Nottingham Forest loanee Djed Spence in January, according to Sky Sports.

They report that the Middlesbrough right-back would cost up to £10million if a deal was struck before the end of the month.

Sky suggest that Arsenal are also interested, and any move this month would see Spence remain at Forest.

Writing in their live transfer blog this morning, Sky shared the latest with contact made by many clubs.

“A number of Premier League and European teams – including Arsenal – are understood to have enquired after Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence this month,” they wrote.

“Spence – who has also attracted the attention of Leeds – is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and played in their FA Cup victory over Arsenal.”

No need.

Spence would remain at Forest as he has already played for two clubs this season, meaning he can’t play elsewhere.

The right-back made the headlines last week after inspiring Nottingham Forest to a 1-0 win over Arsenal at the City Ground.

Does it make much sense for Leeds to do this deal now if they can’t bring him to Elland Road until the summer? No.

The Whites need players to bolster their squad now, and especially if they are paying £10million, they need an instant impact.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared if the Whites are in the ‘advanced’ stages of any January signings
