Leeds United want to sign Birmingham midfielder George Hall

Leeds United are reportedly keeping an eye on Birmingham teenager George Hall ahead of a potential summer move.

According to the Daily Mail, the Whites and Southampton are among a host of teams keen on signing the 17-year-old attacking midfielder.

He has impressed scouts in an England U-18 tournament in December which has put him on the radar of Bundesliga clubs as well.

Good move

Leeds have kept an eye on up and coming players at lower league clubs and Hall fits the criteria perfectly for him.

He is predominantly an attacking midfielder and likes to feature in and around the 18-yard area.

However, he’s played for the English youth teams as a holding midfielder and has also been deployed in a box-to-box role.

Birmingham’s U-18 Lead Coach Martyn Olorenshaw is also understood to be a huge fan of the impressive teenager.

When he signed his first pro deal at the club, Olorenshaw said, “He is an attacking midfielder with an ability to create and score goals. He is explosive, dynamic and has the prowess to influence games.

“He is a really exciting player that has the ceiling to achieve whatever he wants to achieve.”

It goes without saying that the Whites are desperately in need of a player like Hall, given his aforementioned attributes.

While he may not be ready to walk into the first team yet, there’s a good chance that a season at Thorp Arch could get him ready for it.

In other Leeds United news, Steve McManaman claims that a Whites man has already lost the trust of fans after what happened this week.
