Leeds United v Cardiff City: Doctor issues injury update on Sam Byram
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...
Leeds United defender Sam Byram is at risk of missing the game against Cardiff City with a hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that it was initially diagnosed as a knock but then ended up being a concern with his hamstring.
With the game scheduled for Saturday, 13 January, he is expected to undergo a fitness test either on Friday or the following morning.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Byram:
“The injury was described as a knock which is typically contact based. It was then labelled as a hamstring injury.
“Difficult to give any best or worst case scenario we don’t have much information.
“However, there are reports that he might be back over the weekend but there is always a likelihood he won’t so perhaps will undergo a fitness test on Friday or Saturday morning.“

Byram was re-signed by Leeds on a free transfer in the summer after he trained with the club for a number of weeks.
He has become a regular under Daniel Farke and has been ahead of Junior Firpo in the pecking order.
However, in his absence, Firpo has started at left-back and it remains to be seen whether or not that trend will continue after he’s returned to full fitness.
In other Leeds United news, an international player linked with a move to Elland Road is unhappy at his current club and could be on his way out in the January transfer window.
