Leeds United v Blackburn Rovers postponement latest after Met Office update
Leeds United’s game with Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road does not appear to be under threat of being postponed amid the latest update from the Met Office.
High winds and heavy rain are expected over much of the United Kingdom on Wednesday (1 January), which is when Leeds host Blackburn at Elland Road.
As per the Met Office’s latest update on Tuesday evening (31 December), Yorkshire will be one of the regions impacted.
The weather warning is currently only yellow, which it is said will lead to likely travel disruption and flooding.
However, that is not likely to lead to the game at Elland Road being impacted in any way as things stand.
Leeds United to keep momentum going v Blackburn Rovers
The last thing Leeds want is for one of their games to be called off, but that will almost certainly not happen if this latest update is anything to go by.
A number of Championship fixtures were called off due to bad weather earlier this month and it may be that one or two more fall to bad weather in the coming weeks.
With the game set to go ahead as planned, though, Daniel Farke will be eager to keep his side’s momentum going.
Leeds ended 2024 on a high with three wins in a row, and six games without defeat, but it is important they do not slow down from this point on.
Blackburn have taken just one point from the last nine on offer and are therefore there for the taking at Elland Road, where a fan favourite is to return.

That is not to say this well be an easy game, but Farke’s men are the strong favourites and need to be winning games like these.
After a very good weekend in terms of results, let’s hope for more of the same in this latest round of action to begin 2025 in style.
