Former Leeds United loanee Ben White has eventually put an end to speculation over his future at Elland Road.

The defender has put pen-to-paper on a new four-year contract at Brighton, after months of Whites fans campaigning for his signature.

Brighton made it clear they would not sell any of their players to Leeds after they rejected three bids for the 22-year-old.

White rejected a number of contract offers at the AMEX Stadium but eventually decided to sign on the dotted line on Tuesday.

The youngster reacted to the news on his personal Instagram account, with a number of different Leeds players interacting with the post.

Helder Costa simply liked the post, with Barry Douglas, Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts all leaving a message for their former teammate.

All three sent their congratulations, with Ayling claiming that it was "well-deserved".

The Leeds trio surely would have loved White to return to Elland Road next season in the Premier League, something he will do but just in a Brighton shirt once.

Leeds have instead sealed a deal for German international Robin Koch.

That deal was for around £13million. Marcelo Bielsa is also warming to the idea of bringing in yet another defender.

Croatian journalist Ivan Žeželj has also reported that Leeds have all-but-completed a deal for Dinamo Zagreb's Josko Gvardiol, with a £17.8million fee being mooted.

That is two defenders for the price it could have cost to just sign the Brighton youngster, and looking at the bigger picture, Leeds have been very smart in their transfer business - White or not.
