Leeds United slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Stoke City in their first pre-season friendly on Tuesday.
Although disappointing, Whites fans shouldn’t read too much into this with a number of the first-team squad missing from the clash.
Seven players that are all but guaranteed starters next season are away on international duty, with youngsters such as Oliver Casey given a chance.
Kiko Casilla was also given the nod in goal for the defeat, despite his less-than-positive relationship with fans.
The Spaniard was found guilty of racially abusing Jonathan Leko last season, and fans have been calling for him to be held accountable by the club – something they hope would see them cut ties with the keeper.
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth recently admitted that Illan Meslier will be Leeds’ number one next season in the Premier League.
That’s good news for many, but the majority still believe that still isn’t enough should Casilla still be involved at Elland Road.
Leeds are willing to listen to offers for Casilla but are not actively looking to sell the Spaniard, according to David Anderson.
How did Casilla fare against Stoke? In true Leeds style, the first goal came from “chaos” during a corner – something we expect him to be in the middle of once the highlights come out.
Many Leeds fans have reacted to the performance and inclusion of Casilla on Tuesday, with the majority asking for the Whites to get rid this summer.

Really fed up with Kiko Casilla having anything to do with this club. #lufc

Pretty disheartening to see Kiko Casilla still playing, not gonna lie. https://t.co/QOJJIlL5TP

Get Calamity Casilla out of my team

I would never have thought we would concede from a corner with Casilla in goal and a left back/19 year old CB pairing #lufc

Casilla needs to go – whenever he starts a game in goal we look leaky admittedly nowhere near our first team out but he doesn’t inspire confidence. He shouldn’t even be our number 2!
