Leeds United transfer news: Erik ten Hag stance on Amad Diallo shared with Manchester United exit on the cards

Manchester United attacker is reportedly likely to leave the club this summer as Leeds United are keen on signing him on loan.

According to the Sunday People [26 June, Page 56], Erik ten Hag will be giving the player a chance to prove his worth in pre-season.

That being said, it seems very likely that the 20-year-old will be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer on a loan deal.

Interesting option

Diallo took the Championship by storm last season when he played for Sunderland and nearly guided them back to promotion.

He played as a right winger predominantly even though he’s capable of playing all across the front three and wreaked havoc for the Black Cats.

He bagged 13 league goals and three assists in the league and if he can replicate those numbers at Leeds, then it’s worth considering bringing him in.

However, given the rivalry between the two clubs and Manchester United seeing him as a future prospect, it remains to be seen if they sanction his exit to Elland Road.

When they let Dan James leave, he was a player that was regressing at Old Trafford and Leeds paid over the odds and saw their arch rivals make a profit on the Welshman.

This is under slightly different circumstances as there could be other big teams in the Championship that also want Diallo and the Old Trafford outfit might prefer dealing with them.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has made a claim on any “obstacles” the Whites may have with an announcement mooted in the coming days.
