Leeds United transfer news as Victor Orta works on international deals
Leeds United and Victor Orta are working on multiple transfer deals in the hope to bolster the team’s current squad in January, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
It’s the news all Whites want to hear but every fan would prefer to see some action rather than transfer hearsay in the January transfer market.
The Yorkshire Evening Post confessed that RB Salzburg’s Maximilian Wöber could potentially move to Leeds United and the club believe they can get him for a good price.
“Maximilian Wöber, as the left-back/central defensive signing, has legs,” as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“They’re keen on him and believe they can get him for what would be a very good price, and he’s one of a small number of internationals being assessed and worked on, as Orta seeks to bolster that side of the defence with another option.”
It seems like a move for Wober has progressed dramatically on 30 December, with Salzburger Nachrichten (print edition, page 18, 30 December) revealing that he has completed his Leeds United medical.
The report also claims that a fee still needs to be agreed upon, nevertheless, this is a massive step in the right direction towards the Whites getting their man.
£13.3million is the sum being touted by the Austrian news outlet, something that is well within the Leeds United budget and a solid price to pay for the classy defender.
Finally, fans are getting their wish for some defensive reinforcements it seems, something that is drastically needed if recent Premier League fixtures are anything to go by.
Wober’s versatility to play in left-back or centre-back is also massively helpful in this one and gives Marsch an extra option in not one but two positions.
With luck, Wober will just be the start of an influx of January signings, Orta will have his work cut out but he’s still got a keen eye for affordable talents it seems.
