Sources: Stuart Dallas ahead of schedule in Leeds United recovery amid behind-the-scenes development

Leeds United star Stuart Dallas is ahead of schedule in his bid to recover from a fractured femur, MOT Leeds News has been told.

Dallas, 31, has been out of action since the end of last season when he was hospitalised by a serious leg injury in the Premier League defeat to Manchester City on 30 April.

There had been fears that the versatile Northern Ireland international would miss the whole of the 2022/23 season.

However, a source close to Dallas has told MOT Leeds News that the former Brentford player is on course to return to action sooner than initially predicted despite having a couple of setbacks.

Dallas is now training on grass at Elland Road and looks as though he could soon start to work his way back into Jesse Marsch’s first-team plans.

Dallas played at left-back, right back and in the centre of the midfield for Leeds last season.

Pascal Struijk has deputised in the left-back role this term due to Dallas and Junior Firpo both being affected by injuries.

Marsch has Rasmus Kristensen, Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh to choose from at right-back while the American also padded out the centre of his midfield in the summer by signing Tyler Adams, Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi.

Mateusz Klich does seem to be on his way out of Elland Road, however.

MLS Soccer reported on 9 December that DC United are in advanced talks to sign the Poland international, who’s yet to start a Premier League game this season.

In other Leeds United news, this senior man could be 48 hours away from quitting Elland Road.
