Leeds United transfer news as defender in Portugal could arrive at Elland Road
Victor Orta has been a busy man in the month of January so far and seems to be itching to secure the Whites Premier League safety with multiple buys in the market.
The report claims that the teenager is viewed as an option for the U21s squad initially and will be slowly transitioned into first-team action.
“And Leeds are also currently tracking a teenage centre-back who plies his trade in Portugal and would be seen initially as a player for the Under 21s squad if a deal could be done at the end of the window,” as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Who is this Portuguese man of mystery? Whites may have to wait until the end of the January transfer window to find out.
Leeds United are in a perfect position after signing and securing deals in problems areas with two weeks to spare in the January transfer window.
Kudos is due when it’s been earned and it seems like Orta has got this transfer month down to a tee, hopefully, the signings live up to their expectations.
Both Max Wober, of RB Salzburg, and Georginio Rutter, of Hoffenheim, have arrived at Elland Road to provide some firepower to Jesse Marsch’s ranks.
The club could still look to recruit another midfielder to their engine room with Mateusz Klich leaving a hole in the midfield by moving to DC United in the MLS.
Azzedine Ounahi is the name being thrown around as the man to fill this Polish void and Leeds United are reportedly the frontrunners to sign him.
Whatever the case in that transfer story, it’s been a solid window for the Whites and it’s nice to see the club’s hierarchy following through with their ideas and plans this time around.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have placed a £2.2m a year contract offer on the table for this World Cup star.
