Leeds United transfer news as Brighton may make £25m bid for Tyler Adams

Brighton have now entered the race to sign Leeds United midfield star Tyler Adams this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Seagulls are weighing up a £25million offer for the American international at Elland Road.

Roberto Di Zerbi could be on the lookout for a new midfielder with Moises Caicedo potentially set to leave the AMEX Stadium in a big money move.

It won’t be an easy transfer to see over the line though, with other Premier League clubs lining up after Leeds were relegated to the Championship.

Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Everton are all said to have already made contact to get a deal over the line for Adams, with his exit looking more likely by the day.

This comes after rumours that the midfield anchor has a relegation release clause in his contract.

Gutting.

Adams was one of the players that Leeds really wanted to keep this summer.

Of course, he still remains on the books at Elland Road, but the more these different clubs continue to line up, the more likely it is that he will be leaving West Yorkshire behind.

The 49ers Enterprises will, of course, try their best to keep their American star at the club, but £25million is not money to be sniffed at in the Championship.

Loss of revenue from the Premier League will hit the club hard and will not be covered by parachute payments, so some sales will simply have to be made.

Leeds fans would likely prefer Adams goes to a club such as Brighton, rather than those such as Aston Villa, Everton and Nottingham Forest, where there is more of a rivalry.

With European football also on offer, this one could appeal to Adams – fingers crossed, he sticks around.
