Leeds United transfer news as Bono set to leave Sevilla, agent working on possible destinations
Sevilla goalkeeper Bono looks set to leave the club this summer and Leeds United are among the clubs interested in his services, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Fichajes.net reported on 11 April that the Morocco international is growing impatient at the Spanish outfit and is going to leave the club in the summer, with the likes of West Ham, AC Milan and Roma keen on the 32-year-old’s services.
And according to Mundo Deportivo [14 April] Bono isn’t pleased with his relegation to the bench since José Luis Mendilibar’s arrival with the Sevilla coach preferring Marko Dmitrović despite the Moroccan’s success as one of the leading La Liga goalkeepers over the years.

As such, his situation has led to interest elsewhere from the likes of Leeds United and fellow Premier League club West Ham, with his agent already “begun to move to find a possible destination for him”.
Serie A outfits AC Milan and Roma are also said to be interested.
Avoid
Indeed, Bono has been a leading goalkeeping figure in La Liga for years matching the heights of the likes of Real Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois, Barcelona’s Marc Andre Ter Stegen and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.
However, Sevilla’s torrid position in the Spanish top-flight standings and his limited opportunities than usual has meant that the Moroccan international has increasingly grown frustrated with his situation, leading to understandable interest elsewhere.

Bono is a top goalkeeper but a potential option that Leeds United should avoid given there are more attractive and younger options to acquire should first-choice talent Illan Meslier depart Elland Road this summer.
The Whites have been reportedly linked with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and the Georgian, a year younger than Meslier certainly fits the mould of the kind of young, vibrant and attractive outlook that the Whites board are trying to grow at Thorp Arch.
Also, Mamardashvili at £35m is statistically enjoying a better season than Meslier and Bono making him a more attractive and useful target than Bono who only has a few years left at the top level. Which is the more financially viable target?
